Possibly going to travel on a plane with my cat?
We might take our cat with us to California on sort of late notice, we're leaving on the 14th and she's going to the vet on the 8th, anything we should know in advance? What to bring, what to expect, etc.? It's a 6 hour plane ride.

check with the airline first, some don’t allow pets in the cabin except guide dogs.
talk to your vet, they do make pills you can give them to relax but you must be careful giving any meds to a cat.
I think I heard about an airline that just flys pets but I’d imagine that’s super expensive
Just check with your airline concerning their requirements for health record, correct carrier, and fees. Each airline has different regs, so you need to call and make the arrangements.
CALL the airline, or check their web site to be <<sure>> you know what you must do to make your pet’s travel safe: food, water, waste and so on. The airline will have its own specific requirements for pet transport.
Don’t just show up and hope it all works out – remember Murphy’s Law (if you are not familiar with that, look it up).

Instead of putting your cat all the way in the back where all the luggage is, pet airways puts the pets where the people would sit( they have their own airplane) They fly to 2 places in California i think. Try it out! Its pretty cheap if they fly out of your airport!
You absolutely need to contact the airline in advance. If they will not accept the cat, you will have to cancel your trip.
