Cats on Flights… What's the procedure?
To make a long story short, I am planning on flying up to Boise, Idaho... to live. Not just to visit. The one thing that is making the trip hard to plan is my eight-year-old cat. I know you can fly pets. I also know there is no way I could make my cat behave in a pet carrier... he'd be yowling the entire time, so I don't want to do an in-cabin flight. Can they fly cats separate? Like, for instance, where they put the luggage? Where he can yowl all he wants? It's probably not going to be a comfortable move for him anyway... If he's in the luggage area, will it be comfortable at all?
I'm planning on flying Southwest (sardine can) Airlines.

yes, but Southwest only allows in cabin, not as checked baggage. You could fly another airline, or you could ship him as cargo
